Plastic Fabrication
Plastic Forming:
- Thermoforming is a good option for variety of thermoformed displays and vacuum formed displays with
numerous options on colors, texture, and special finishes (ie. granite, wood grain, themoformed metalic).
Thermoforming is also used for high volume thin gage parts, packaging, low to mid volume heavy gage parts.
See Thermoformed Component Parts page.
- Cold Forming is a process similar to sheet metal forming using special dies. The process requires little custom tooling and has faster cycle times than heat bending or thermoforming. Cold formable materials include Polycarbonate (Lexan) and PETG. See pictures above.
- Heat Bending is done either on a hot wire bender, a calrod bender, or heat plate and requires a fixture. This process works for almost all plastics and is ideal for simple bends.
Plastic Bonding:
- Bonding of Acrylic, ABS, Acrylic PVC, Polycarbonate, and others.
- Solvent Bonding is used often for air ducts or for adding ribs and custom features to vacuum formed parts.
Plastic Welding:
- Welding of Polypropylene, HDPE, PVC, ABS, and others.
- Small to medium size parts including solution tanks.
- Sonic Welding can be used to bond many different material types without solvent.
